”“When my coming draws near, heaven’s kingdom realm can be compared to ten virgins who took their oil lamps and went outside to meet the bridegroom and his bride.

Five of them were foolish and ill-prepared, for they took no extra oil for their lamps. Five of them were wise, for they took flasks of olive oil with their lamps.

When the bridegroom didn’t come when they expected, they all grew drowsy and fell asleep. Then suddenly, in the middle of the night, they were awakened by the shout ‘Get up! The bridegroom is here! Come out and have an encounter with him!’

So all the virgins got up and trimmed their lamps. But the foolish ones were running out of oil, so they said to the five wise ones, ‘Share your oil with us, because our lamps are going out!’ “ ‘We can’t,’ they replied. ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. You’ll have to go and buy some for yourselves!’

While the five foolish virgins were out buying oil, the bridegroom appeared. Those who were ready and waiting were escorted inside with him and the wedding party to enjoy the feast. And then the door was locked.

Later, the five foolish virgins came running up to the door and pleaded, ‘Lord, Lord, let us come in!’ “But he called back, ‘Go away! Do I know you? I can assure you, I don’t even know you!’ “That is the reason you should always stay awake and be alert, because you don’t know the day or the hour when the Bridegroom will appear.”“ ~ ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭1‬-‭13‬ ‭TPT‬‬

What condition is your heart in today? Is it soft and tender, kind and compassionate or has it become hard and stony, cold and calloused? When your heart has become cold and stony, rarely are you able to forgive those who have hurt and offended you. In fact, you stay offended most of the time about something. Forgiveness is essential if you want to go to Heaven. Jesus is very clear, even in the Lord’s Prayer, that you must forgive in order to be forgiven and if you are not forgiven, you will not go to Heaven.

A soft and tender heart is full of compassion and giving. But a cold and stony heart is hard, unmovable and doesn’t care. If you have that type of heart today, I urge you to pray for God to give you a heart of flesh. One that can feel again. One that can forgive and let go of past hurts. Why hold on to those things that prevents you from going on with life, holds you in the past and prevents you from having a future? It will also prevent you from having an eternal future with Jesus Christ. That would be the greatest tragedy of all. Let’s pray…

Heavenly Father, I ask you to change my cold, calloused and stony heart into a heart of flesh. Renew my mind and help me to have a heart to forgive those who have hurt me so deeply. I desire to have an abundant life here on earth, but I also want an eternal life with You in Heaven. Change me Lord and help me to love again and experience the fullness of life you have for me. In Jesus Christ name, Amen.

What is your gift? Your talent that sets you apart from others? The gift I am talking about is what comes natural to you and what you love to do. It’s not a learned gift, for gifts can’t be learned. A gift is what was given to you from the Lord. It may be singing, teaching, a sport, or maybe you are an artist. Whatever gift you have, you should put all your heart into it, and do it with excellence as if you are only doing it for the Lord. Glorify the Lord through your gift!

This is one area where education can’t create a gift. I’ve listened to a professional singer that sung beautifully but when I listened to a gifted singer, and it touched my heart. But then you can go even a step further. When you have a gifted singer who is anointed, it will touch you to your core. That anointing will draw people back to listen to you.

David was brought before king Saul to play his harp because he was gifted to play it. It soothed the kings heart and mind. But David was also anointed, and that gift kept him there, time and time again to continue playing for the king.

Whatever your gift may be, I encourage you to use it for the Lord. Allow His anointing to flow through you, so you can be used in a mighty way that will bring Him glory.

”A man's gift maketh room for him, And bringeth him before great men.“ ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18‬:‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬
