Spiritual Health and Wellness

Think of your spiritual life as a tree. Throughout life, there are areas that grow rampant and stray away from the stability of the trunk, which is rooted in the knowledge and truth of the Word of God.

These areas of outgrowth, which are contrary to truth, must be cut away so that the tree does not become unruly and unmanageable. Take heed of correction and allow the cutting away of unruly branches, lest your spirit become wild and untamable.

Trim the outgrowth immediately, do not allow it to overtake the healthiness of the tree. We must remain humble and receive correction from the Word, which brings life to the soul.

“So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls.”

Sing Praise

Lord, I thank You for Your word that gives life.

I thank You for Your life that gives salvation.

I thank You for Your salvation that gives hope.

I thank You for Your hope that gives assurance.

I thank You for Your assurance that gives peace.

And I thank You for Your peace that gives rest to this weary soul.

Only You, oh Lord, can restore and redeem us over and over, molding and making us more like You with each day that passes. Your love is endless and Your mercies are renewed each morning. Thank You Lord, for Your love over us!

In His Strength

... those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31, NKJV).

I want to encourage you today to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and wait on Him, even through difficult seasons. When I do this, it enables me to embrace the season (sometimes a little unwillingly!), rather than resist, despise, or try to skip over it.

Admittedly, I haven’t been perfect at this. There have been times when I temporarily chose to focus on the pain, the frustration, or the challenge of the season. As a result, instead of moving ahead in my God-given purpose, I moved toward the pain and frustration.

But trust me, it’s so much better (and quicker) to keep your eyes on Jesus regardless of the season. Focus on Him today and experience His strength for you!
